Inktober day 13 - Ash
Life from Death
This piece I think looks alright, it is not the best I've made, but not the worst either. However the symbolism within it can be seen as deep. When something is burnt down to the ground all that remains is the ashes, however plants thrive within it, and so the ashes brings forth new life. As a side note for myself I should practice some calligraphy, it's been 6 or 7 years since I last practiced it.

Inktober day 12 - Dragon
Here we have two dragons merged as one, to the left Nicol Bolas and to the right Ugin. They are from the worlds within Magic the Gathering - Wizards of the Coast. Nicol Bolas and Ugin are twin brothers born from the same egg, from their cluch they were the smallest, but even so they grew up to be the strongest one could say. Nicol Bolas enjoys creating chaos and destruction, whereas Ugin is the calmer one of the two, more or less he has to clean up the messes Nicol Bolas creates. What I find to enjoy with this piece is how the two of them are polar opposites, yet they share some similarities, I'd say one could guess they were brothers, but not twin brothers from the same egg. This piece is something I will be making digitaly one day, because the image itself gives me such inspiration and the want to improve my art skills.

Inktober day 11 - Snow
For this image I don't have that much to say, other than that the idea came from my boyfriend, "snow owl" was the idea. The twist on this is that the snow owl is fanart of the one that is in Ark - Survival evolved. It has these fancy glowing bits in its face and on the feet.

Inktober day 10 - Pattern
This could also have been drawn at day 4, when the theme was "freeze", but alas. Here we have Tealie sitting infront of a radiator, holding a cup of hot chocolate and having her scarf wrapped around herself. This is how I used to spend my days during my bachelor degree, all my breaks that was during the autumn, winter and early spring. Most of my life I've spent feeling cold, so I always find a warm place to stay near, and at my school that was near the radiators. For the pattern part of the image, I added a pattern to her t-shirt and the wall. For this image I went to the hobby shop we have in town to buy ink that could be mixed with water. I wanted to try to make a black and white image using only black ink, and this was the result!

Inktober day 8 and 9 - Frail - Swing
For this idea I skipped a day and created one image out of two prompts, frail being for day 8 and swing for day 9. Fun fact with this image, it is the first time in 5-6 years that I've used a pen that you dip in ink! Also I love the colour of this ink!

Inktober day 7 - Enchanted
The name of this drawing is "A fox courier of enchanted scrolls", this little fox teleports around to where it is needed, bringing the enchanted scrolls that a person needs! It is fast and it is cute, what more could you ask for? More things I want to colour, both digitally and traditional!

Inktober day 5 - Build
Here we have the fairy village within a lot of pumpkins! Another image I want to draw digitally one day! but also to colour the piece itself in with markers! I'm really fond of how this piece turned out, of course there might be a few details I could've done better, but all in all I'm happy. What I'm most happy with is the feeling of depth that I managed to create, and I know just the way to make it with colours too I think! :D All in all a great inktober day! For more info about me planning this image out go look in the "traditional sketches folder".

Inktober day 4 - Freeze
I've always been really fond of the frost that appears on the leaves and the branches during the autumn, it looks so beautiful. However I don't think I managed to get the effect that I wanted with this image, but atleast the colours are nice.

Inktober - Day 3 - #Bait
I am very curious about what type of bait Link was using to catch such a lovely mermaid. Looking forward to colour this one in one day in the future! Character's belong to Nintendo and the game "The Legend of Zelda - Link's Awakening". I really enjoy how the new characters from the game look like, however with just a lineart like this the eyes look a bit hollow, but after colouring Link in once for that birthday card, I'm sure it'll turn out good this time too!

Inktober day 2 - Mindless
Day two is simply two fishes mindlessly swimming in circles! Usually when I see art pieces like this, both the fishes would usually be shown from above, so to challenge myself a bit I tried drawing one from beneath! I really enjoyed the challenge and making the art piece itself!

Inktober day 1 - "Tealie"
As mentioned within my "traditional sketch" folder I'm trying to create a cartoonized self, with some very obcvious creative freedom. This character is created with certain features in mind. She is both a elf and a dragon, whichever she prefers, her skin is always cold, (being an ice dragon), however she doesn't like the cold and it bothers her, so she wears gloves and things like ponchos during the cold seasons (and sometimes even in the warm seasons). I was very happy with the sketch on this one, and then when I started linearting I managed to drag out the ink in the face, so I'm rather anoyed at that, but I'll probably fix that by actually colouring it one time in the future when my master degree is finished! So yes I wrote that it is finished at the sketch folder, but that's only for inktober :D
Hopefully I'll get to draw some more expressions during inktober! Need to get more practice with that ;)

Link's Awakening
Here is more Zelda fanart in form of a birthdaycard for a friend. One of my real life friends had birthday resently, and for her birthday she got the game "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening" from her boyfriend. She seems to enjoy the game, so I figured that I'd make some fanart from the Cover art. The art ain't perfect but I didn't have a lot of time to make it either, so it was rather rushed, but none the less I'm happy with it. For the sketch I looked at the Switch cover and tried to recreate the art from that. His skintone was a bit to dark, but I didn't have light enough markers for it, so I had to use what I had.

"Random Creature Design"
This creature was inspired by one of "Dina Norlund's" videoes on YouTube, where she has this drawing challenge. In the challenge there are random creatures picked and a colour usually, and for this challenge she got the animals "Mink", "Sheep" and "Jerboa" and as a featured colour she got "Mahogany". Other key features was glowing and lives at a glacier. So in this piece I took inspiration from a sheeps head and back hoves, the body and front feet is from the mink and the tail is from the jerboa. The skin texture is supposed to be inspired from the sheep, but I didn't manage that too well. The darker brown colour is as close to mahogany I could get it with my markers. I had tons of fun with this one and I'm especially happy with the ice that the creature is standing on. All in all I'm happy with the result, but the pose could have been better.

Spinosaurus <3
Ever since I played Ark: Survival evolved I've really had a fondness for dinosaurs, particulary this one, the spinosaurus. So This is the first art piece I did after ordering more markers, and one of the markers I got was in the colour Teal <3. For this art piece I first drew it on water colour paper, thinking I'd try to do some watercolour, but after getting the markers I redrew it on marker paper and this was the result! For the initial sketch I used some colour-erase pencils, which I then lightly erased away before starting with the markers. Once I get more comfortable with the markers I'll try to do some proper backgrounds too!

The markers feel perfect for making cards and illustrations for friends and family, so there is no surprice when I say that the last two images are also cards. The sunflowers are as shown part of a birthday card for my boyfriend's mother, who also very resently had her birthday. Here I worked with markers once again and some fineliners to create more details afterwards. Lastly there is a cute penguin which I made for my nephew's christenings.

After making the first card I got inspired to make another, this time it was for my boyfriend. His alltime favourite game is "Legend of Zelda - Majora's mask", and from that I made the illustration of the mask. Here I worked with markers first before adding "wood texture" with some pencils, and lastely I wrote a happy birthday greeting on the back.

Around august this year I got some markers which I've loved working with, the brand I'm using is called "Spectum noir - Illustrator" and I'm really enjoying using them! The set I got was part of a limited edition box from smart art, made by Jazza. The box's name was Jazzy Art Box". The raptor on the down left is the first image I created with the markers and I fell in love with them. I then did a few wips for a Norwegian mountain, which I used in a card for my boyfriend's father's birthday in August (I forgot to take a photo of the finished result before I gave the card away, however I ended up using both markers and watercolour for the card itself).

Watercolour works, to the left we have Hytail fanart (a game which is not yet released). and to the right is a trial for a mascot for my digital name "DragonTeal"

I got a friend of mine to just suggest random creatures for me to do a quick study of and to the left is the result of that, and at the end he asked me to draw "Deathwing" from the World of Warcraft universe, I based the dragon itself on some cute reference I found on google, but the setting is mine.

Some traditional work with pen from the first half of this year (2019). Down left we have me trying to create the Japanese creature a "Kirin", which is a mythical hooved chimerical creature which is known in the East Asian cultures. In the middle on the lower row is just another cute dinosaur. The creature down right is a madeup creature I made during my bachelor degree, and I call it a "Jerbol", which is a mix between the mouse type "Jerboa" and a "Owl". Top left is a concept I started working on for myself of a Harpy kid, which is a fantasy creature., this being very early concept for it. Lastly there is a female goblin which is a concept for something my friends and I worked on for a little while.
